The Oscar Night is finished and I’m not satisfied like every single year. But I want to dedicate this movie marathon to the wonderful Meryl Streep that has a record of 20 Oscar nominations (she won 3 times). I love her versatility on the screen, she could be everyone behind the camera. So today’s list is made with her success, 3 movies thanks to she won 3 Oscars:

  • Kramer vs Kramer, 1979, directed by Robert Benton, with Dustin Hoffman and Meryl Streep. It’s a drama and deals with the story of a divorce and the impact on the people getting involved. Streep won the award as Best Supporting Actress.
  • Sophie’s choice, 1982, directed by Alan J Pakula, with Meryl Streep and Kevin Klein. It’s one of the best 100 American Movies for the American Film Institute. It’s a drama, set after the Second World War with all the psychological problems that it drags. Streep won the award as Best Actress.
  • The Iron Lady, 2011, directed by Phyllida Lloyd, with Meryl Streep and Jim Broadbent. It’s a biographical movie about Margaret Thatcher’s life. All is seen through an old Thatcher’s eyes with a lot of nostalgia. Streep won the award as Best Actress.

What do you think about this list? Do you like Meryl Streep? What is your favourite actor/actress?
