Lucca FIlm Festival will start tomorrow and Willem Dafoe will be guest of honor and he’ll receive a special award. I really like his work has an actor and I think he deserves more main character positions in movies. If you notice most of the time he has not a leading role.
So, I want to dedicate this movie marathon to Willem Dafoe and his prizes (and a Wes Anderson movie because it is always good).

  • Platoon, 1986, directed by Oliver Stone, with Charlie Sheen and Willem Dafoe. One of the best war movie of all the time (and also Oliver Stone will be at Lucca Film Festival).
  • Shadow of the vampire, 2000, directed by E. Elias Merhige, with John Malkovich and Willem Dafoe. When vampires didn’t shine. This is an horror movie about the great director Murnau and how he directed “Nosferatu” in 1921.
  • The Grand Budapest Hotel, 2014, directed by Wes Anderson, with Ralph Fiennes, Tony Revolori and Willem Dafoe. I loved the bad role of Dafoe in this movie, Wes Anderson succeed in highlight every single role in his movies, so also little character comes out and have their moment.

What do you think about this list? Do you like Willem Dafoe too?
