It’s movie marathon day: Monica Bellucci

My November movie marathon is dedicated to one of my favourite women in the World, the charming Monica Bellucci. I’ve always loved her bearing and her beauty. I don’t think she’s the best actress, but she always remains fixed in the mind after you watch a movie with her. Giuseppe Tornatore tried to highlight her sensual power in the 2000 movie Malèna. I loved it a lot and from it starts this movie marathon. There are a lot of movies in which she appears as an unforgettable spot: Matrix, The Passion of the Christ, Spectre… Here is my choice.

  • Dobermann (1997), a french movie directed by Jan Kounen, with Vincent Cassel, Tchéky Karyo and Monica Bellucci. This drama-thriller is based on a Joel Hussin comic and it was a little scandal because of its extreme violent scenes. And when a film is a scandal it has to be seen.
  • Malèna (2000), an italian movie directed by Giuseppe Tornatore, with Monica Bellucci and Giuseppe Sulfaro. This romantic drama deals with the story of a boy in a little Sicilian village. He experiences three events: Italy enters in WWII, he gets a new bike and he sees for the first time the beautiful young woman Malèna.
  • Napoleon and me (2006), is an italian-french-spanish movie directed by Paolo Virzì, with Daniel Auteuil, Elio Germano and Monica Bellucci. This historical comedy-drama is based on the novel N. by Ernesto Ferrero. It tells the story of the exile of Napoleon on Elba island.

What do you think about these movies? Do you know Monica Bellucci? I think that you all saw her at least once in your life!
